Our non-profit organization is emotionally devoted to providing disadvantaged people of the Africa Diaspora with skills and opportunities to improve their economic situation. In doing this we plan to aid in three primary areas of everyone which is mind, body, and spirit.
When your spirit is broken, your mind and body will always be under attack. Africans in the Diaspora have overcome some obstacles but for each one we have conquered there seems to be several that pop up in place of it. This has cause many in the Diaspora to feel helpless and hopeless. This feeling will break the spirits of most. When you see someone that looks like you, making positive contributions to life, you recondition your mind to tell you “Yes you can" instead of "no you can't" take care of your family and/or accomplish great things. To accomplish this, we will educate our clients on the contributions of Africans in every field including architecture, agriculture, automotive, inventions, and technology.
Once the spirit is repaired, the mind will start to operate differently. Currently, it is critical to enhance the knowledge of our community. We do not believe this is not fully accomplished in a traditional educational system. Our goal is to educate our clients on basic architecture, agriculture, automotive, and technology skillsets through hands on activities. By providing hands on activities in these areas, our clients gain the experience most employers are seeking. It also gives them skills they can use to self-employ. In addition, we also plan to work with local companies, to place our clients in jobs.
As your spirit and mind is brought into alignment, your body will follow. We want to elevate the people in the African Diaspora that have a negative view of their bodies. Some live in less than favorable conditions. This can range from poor dietary options, poor hygiene, to poor fitness. Our organization's goal is to model how we should view, treat our bodies, and practice self-care. Through our programs, we will provide people with skills to grow their own food. We will also host fitness sessions periodically.
When the spirit, mind, and body are in alignment a person can thrive. Our community needs the opportunity to flourish and to be prosperous. These are the things that distinguish our organization from others. Our goal is to align all three to shape a more whole individual.
